The colors and tones make for a not particularity beautiful photo-in the sense of a friendly, safe, and bright white beauty. You notice this most when comparing this photograph with the other two photo shoots [Grey Matter & RGB] I have done with Sophia; those are much brighter and more attractive to the eye.
There is a blatant disregard for Sophia’s photogenic qualities here. She serves as nothing more than a source of content-filling in each image thus preventing photos that appear to be empty of subject matter. Even though the actual subject matter is the predominant black contrast, low color saturation and blur throughout each photo, her shadow like presence symbolizes how these characteristics apply to the human psyche. You see her but there is no smiling, barely any animation and livelihood.
People should be able to look at this photograph and not sense happiness nor confidence-these two characteristics promote action and activity and colorful noise—characteristics intentionally absent from this series.
