The colors and tones make for a not particularity beautiful photo-in the sense of a friendly, safe, and bright white beauty. You notice this most when comparing this photograph with the other two photo shoots [Grey Matter & RGB] I have done with Sophia; those are much brighter and more attractive to the eye.
The day we went out for the photo shoot ended up being a day plagued with severe thunderstorms and, needless to say,  we were very much limited in how and where we could shoot. I wasn’t very happy with the shots I was capturing at the time but that changed once I was able to review them back at home and review them more in depth.
I love how these photographs portray an almost blatant disregard for Sophia’s photogenic qualities. She serves as nothing more than a source of context for the actual subject matter-the combination of black contrast, low color saturation and blur in each photo. Her shadow like presence symbolizes how these characteristics apply to the state of any human when in difficult times. You see her and you see her in task but there is no smiling and no livelihood.
This interpretation isn’t necessarily the initial vision I had for this photo shoot; it’s just what came out when having to improvise around the weather conditions on that day. So maybe it was some introspection that wanted to come out.
